Sanford Shuffle opens its courts to beginners October 16
Play casually or enter the evening tournament at the Civic Center’s shuffleboard courts.

Sanford Shuffle returns to the Civic Center’s shuffleboard courts Friday, October 16. Courts open at 6:30 p.m., and the elimination tournament starts at 7. The city lists the evening event through 9 p.m.
Players do not have to enter the tournament. Courts are also available for casual games, and organizers say first-timers can learn how to play. That makes the monthly gathering an option for neighbors who want to try the sport before committing to a competitive match.
The courts are at 401 East Seminole Boulevard. Coolers are allowed, but glass containers are not. The Sanford Shuffleboard Club organizes the event, which takes place on the third Friday of each month.
